In addition, complete records and a final report document every step from collection to final disposal. You can view the processing status in real time during the process. Together with the deletion certificates per device and, if applicable, destruction certificates, this creates a complete proof of compliance with data protection and environmental protection standards. Only devices that can no longer be re-marketed are disposed of; all others are first tested for reuse. At Second IT, reuse precedes recycling: functional hardware is prepared and receives a second life, which can bring you additional revenue. Non-remarketingable devices are carefully disassembled to secure functional components and recover raw materials in their purest form. This includes metals, plastics, precious metals, and rare earths, which are recycled back into the material cycle. This results in as little electrical waste as possible. Before a device is disposed of, all data carriers are either certified erased or mechanically destroyed, even if the device is defective. Functional storage media are overwritten with Blancco and receive an erasure certificate. Defective or unerasable media are shredded in-house according to DIN 66399, Security Level H-5, and documented with a destruction certificate. Our staff previously inspects each device for hidden or forgotten storage media. This ensures that no readable data remains in circulation during disposal or recycling.
